These websites answer many questions about immigration law and how to qualify and apply for benefits.

What is the purpose of a consultation? The law firm of Hill, Piibe & Villegas offers two types of consultations.

Free* In-Person Consultations are solely for the purpose of determining whether Hill, Piibe & Villegas may assist you with your immigration case. We do not charge for the first 30 minutes for this type of consultation, and there is no risk of you spending money just to hear that we cannot help. You will meet with an attorney, who will review your documents and advise you how the law firm can make a difference in your case. These consultations are not available over the telephone or via e-mail, and are only offered in-person at either office location. If you are detained or otherwise cannot come to the appointment in person, you may send a friend or family member with authorization to speak on your behalf.

* Please note, this consultation costs $80 per hour, but the fee is waived if the consultation is completed within 30 minutes.

Research Consultations are for the purpose of answering your specific questions and providing detailed information about the law. For example, they are appropriate for situations where you are not sure if you qualify for a visa, or you would like help strategizing your case, or you would like information on how to apply for benefits, such as a green card. These consultations take place with an attorney, who will review your documents, answer your questions and help outline your strategy. Research consultations cost $250 per hour, and this amount is credited toward your contract with the firm in the event you hire Hill, Piibe & Villegas for further services. At times, further research may be necessary to answer questions, and this may incur further charges (also credited toward any contract for legal services). Research consultations may take place in-person, and we also offer telephonic consultations and e-mail consultations.

All consultations are kept confidential. Please note that a consultation does not bind Hill, Piibe & Villegas as your attorneys, or to represent you before the Immigration Service or any courts. A separate written agreement must be entered into if you desire any legal services.
